Here's my plea, if you can't make it through the intersection on your green light, don't go. I reserve the right to broadside you if you're in my way when I have green....
Um...yield DOES mean STOP if there are cars coming. Your view on the yield sign might explain why some drivers barrel out onto a street with traffic that they SHOULD be yielding to.
Lainelou- I'm with ya... Marc - I'm referring to yeilds when merging onto a major highway/interstate. Without fail, some one in front of me STOPS at the yeild sign leading to I95 from Caton Ave, when they could easily feather into traffic. And if yeild means stop, then why are there yeild signs?? Huh? Well? Yeah, that's what I thought.
Look up the actual law...of a yield sign. The intention of the yield sign is to show that YOU do not have "the right of way". If a STOP is necessary to give other cars the right of way, then that's what you have to do. STOP signs mean stop...yield sign means "you do not have the right away so you should STOP if necessary". I'm not making this up, I looked up Maryland law. Huh? Well? Yeah...you thought wrong. :)
Here, here!
